Neighborhood Cleanup This Weekend

This Saturday, October 2, from 8:00 a.m. to noon, Prince William County is sponsoring a neighborhood cleanup for the residents of Yorkshire.

Dumpsters will be available at Emmanuel Baptist Church, which is located at 8006 Centreville Road in Manassas, VA. The dumpsters will be available to collect trash and debris, and no liquids or commercial waste will be accepted. The county’s Department of Public Works’ Neighborhood Services Division will be providing the dumpsters and the county Litter Control Crew will be available to assist with any large items.

Old Town Manassas Features 28th Annual Fall Jubilee

It’s that time again for the beautiful log carvings of the popular Chainsaw Chix, 300 crafters and lots of entertainment at the 28th Annual Manassas Fall Jubilee to be held, Sat., Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Old Town Manassas, Va., presented by Clear, an Internet company based in Kirkland, Wash. With FREE admission and FREE parking, the event will feature hundreds of crafters, including exhibitors with handmade jewelry and products, woodcrafts, face painting, a pumpkin patch, live entertainment and rides.

Attempted Bank Robbery in Prince William County

On September 21st at 12:48PM, police responded to the SunTrust Bank located at 4377 Kevin Walker Dr in the Montclair section of Prince William County for an attempted robbery. A preliminary investigation has revealed that an unknown man entered the bank and attempted to retrieve an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. The man implied he had a gun but no gun was seen. No money was given to the man and no injuries were reported. The man fled the scene, apparently on foot, prior to police arrival.

Yogen Fruz Opens New Location At Potomac Mills

WOODBRIDGE, VA (September 20, 2010) – Potomac Mills, the largest outlet and value retail destination in Virginia, will celebrate the resurgence of the frozen yogurt craze with the addition of the latest location of Yogen Fruz, the internationally recognized frozen yogurt chain with over 1,200 stores in 25 countries.  This much anticipated new eatery is slated to join Potomac Mills’ Neighborhood 2 near The Outlet Store – Bloomingdale’s in November.

Baseball Minor League Game Tonight at Pfitzner Stadium

Tonight, September 17, in Woodbridge, Virginia the Potomac Nationals, who are the single A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, will play for the Carolina League Championship. The game will be played at 7:00 p.m. at Pfitzner Stadium verses the single A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, the Winston Salem Dash.

Potomac currently leads the best of 5 series: 2 games to 1 game. If Potomac loses tonight, game 5 is tomorrow night at 6:30 pm at the same location. Play ball!

 

 

National Prescription Drug "Take-Back Day"

On Saturday, September 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the Potomac Mills and the Prince William County Police Department along with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration are hosting National Prescription Drug "Take-Back Day.” The event is an opportunity for local residents to safely and legally throw away any unwanted, unused, or expired prescription drugs. It’s goal is to help discourage hazardous disposal, as well as theft and pill abuse. Medications will be collected at the Potomac Mills Food Court at 2700 Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge, VA.

Classy Kids Childrens Consignment Sale Coming Soon

Kids are just getting back to school, and with this tough economy back-to-school shopping is dreaded. However, locally owned and operated Classy Kids Children’s Consignment Sale is coming to town and is surely a way to save some extra money. The sale will be held at the Prince William County Fairgrounds October 13 through October 17.

What once started in the basement of a church in Old Town Mansassas has grown into a massive event that fills the Home Arts and the Commercial building at the Prince William County Fairgrounds.
