Manassas man arrested for raping woman in car


MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police have arrested a man who they say raped a 37-year-old woman in a car.

It happened on November 13 in the 8900 block of Round Top Rd in Manassas.


Police say Daniel Antonio Arriaga, 53, of Manassas was talking to the victim, a known acquaintance, in a car when he became angry and forcibly raped her.


He is being held without bond.


4th suspect's identity released in Brenden Wilson death


WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police have identified the fourth suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy, and they say he may be armed and dangerous.

Police are looking for Deion Nathaniel Moses, 17, for the death of Brenden Wilson, who was shot in the woods behind Woodbridge Senior High School. Three other suspects are in custody for his death.

Earlier Thursday, prosecutors asked police to release the suspects name because he is still at large. A judge granted that request Thursday evening.

3 arrested, 1 sought for murder of Woodbridge student Brenden Wilson


WOODBRIDGE Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police have arrested a total of three people in connection with the shooting death of a Woodbridge Senior High School student. One suspect is still being sought.

Brenden Wilson was shot to death behind the school Monday in what police say might have been a drug deal gone bad. Brenden's mother is in shock but she wants to thank police for their quick work.

"Rumors are that this was drug related but this was not drug related. Just because the person who shot him is a drug dealer does not mean this was drug related. I don't know why these people killed my son. Prince William County is doing a wonderful job. I will not have my son's name go out like that," said Vickki Wilson Moore, Brenden's mother.

Woman arrested for throwing utensil at 8-year-old boy in Woodbridge


WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A woman is in custody after throwing a kitchen utensil at an eight-year-old boy, according to Prince William County police.

Cindy Ann Oatman, 47, of Woodbridge, is charged with unlawful wounding. The utensil hit the boy and caused a laceration to his head, police said.

It happened at a home in the 2000 block of Hanson Lane. The eight-year-old boy told police that Oatman, a known acquaintance, threw objects at him. A family member called police when they came home.

Oatman is being held without bond.


Police: Woman assaulted after pick up in Prince William Co. commuter lot


WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A woman was assaulted while getting a ride from someone who picked her up a Prince William County commuter lot Tuesday morning, according to police.

It happened in the commuter lot off of Horner Road around 5:30 a.m. in the "slug" line. Slugs are people who leave their cars in commuter lots and ride with strangers into the city. It's mutually beneficial - a free ride to the carless and an extra body to the driver so they can hop in the HOV lane. Hundreds of people do it every day, and without issue, until Tuesday.

WUSA9 asked one commuter Jodi Morgan if she ever felt unsafe slugging.

Brenden Wilson killed near Woodbridge High School, 3 sought


WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police
are hoping to make an arrest soon in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old student from Woodbridge Senior High School.

Brenden Wilson was gunned down next to the school along a pathway through some woods at around 4:30 p.m. Monday. I
t's not clear whether Wilson was just walking home from school, or whether something else was going on.

Police are searching for three young males, one white and two black, who were seen fleeing the scene on Oakwood Drive in a pickup truck. Nearby residents heard six to seven shots.

Tractor trailer driver killed in dump truck crash on I-95


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY (WUSA9) -- A tractor-trailer driver was killed after crashing into a disabled dump truck on I-95 on Friday night, police said.

It happened at around 10:52 p.m. at the 149 mile marker in the middle of the northbound lane, police said.

A person called police about the disabled dump truck on the interstate.

"A trooper was immediately dispatched to assist the truck; however, within two minutes of the first call being received, a northbound tractor-trailer struck the dump truck. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to overturn," police said in a news release.

The driver of the tractor-trailer died at the scene. Police identified him as Anthony T. Coppedge, 59, of the 7700 block of Oster Drive in Richmond, Va.

"Northbound I-95 traffic was detoured off at Exit 148 onto Route 1 north. All I-95 lanes were reopened by 4:45 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 8)," police said.
