Man jailed for hitting woman with tablet, choking her

TRIANGLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police in Prince William County have arrested a man they say threw a tablet at a woman before choking her.

It happened on Nov. 26 at 4:02 a.m. at a residence in the 18300 block of Sharon Road in Triangle, Va, police said. They were called to investigate a domestic assault, and upon arrival located a 34-year-old female victim who told police that a known acquaintance were involved in a verbal argument that escalated.

During the encounter, the accused threw an electronic tablet towards the victim, striking her in the head, and at one point knocked her to the ground and began to choke her, police said.

Another resident of the home contacted police and minor injuries were reported.

William Monroe Green, 32, of the same address, was arrested and charged with strangulation and domestic assault and battery. He is currently being held without bond.

Woodbridge teen killed in 'gun battle' between 2 families

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A witness describes the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old as gun battle that erupted over an argument between two families.

Christopher Nathaniel Weaver, 19, who friends called Woodie, was killed just after midnight Sunday morning in the 13400 block of Keating Drive in Woodbridge, Va.

WUSA9's Peggy Fox talked to a young person who was there when guns were drawn. He says he saw four guns and the man who was killed was the first to pull his gun.

"I could've been hit," said the teen, who witnessed the fatal shooting of his friend's big brother. WUSA9 is not releasing the identity of the witness.

16-year-old girl arrested in Brenden Wilson death

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police have arrested a fifth suspect in connection with the shooting death of a Woodbridge Senior High School student.

A 16-year-old female was arrested on November 14, the same day that the fourth suspect turned himself in, according to police. They both face conspiracy to commit a felony.

Brenden Wilson, 16, was shot and killed on November 10 in a wooded area behind Woodbridge Senior High School. Police say his death was drug related.

Woman arrested for whipping girl with cable, extension cord

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A woman is being held in jail without bond after allegedly whipping a 14-year-old girl with a coaxial cable and an electrical extension cord.

Prince William County police say that the beating happened on November 12 at a home in Woodbridge.

Thirty-three-year-old Belky Maria Bonilla-Palacias is accused of getting into an argument that turned physical with the girl. The girl received bruises and laceration to her back, legs and lower body, say police. She reported the incident to school officials, who then notified child protective services and police.

Bonilla-Palacias is charged with malicious wounding and felony child abuse.

4th suspect in Brenden Wilson death turns himself in

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- The fourth suspect wanted in the murder of a Woodbridge teen who was shot to death has turned himself into police.

Deion Moses turned himself in on Friday without incident, Prince William County police said.

Moses is the fourth suspect charged in the death of 16-year-old Brenden Wilson, who was shot to death in the woods behind Woodbridge Senior High School on November 10.
