Pack Light, Pack Right While Traveling by Air This Fall

Fall is a time when millions of people around the country begin to make their travel plans. In fact, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the busiest travel times of the year are just around the corner, which include Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. There are some great reasons why packing light will help make your trip easier and more enjoyable. And the good news is that it’s not difficult to do, either.

“If you want to pack right when you travel then you really need to focus on packing light,” explains Tina Aldatz, chief executive officer of Savvy Travelers. “There’s much less hassle and stress when you pack light and stick to the basics. You can put your focus on your travel, rather than having all of your attention go to dragging around way too much luggage.”

Child nearly drowns in Prince William County


MONTCLAIR, Va. (WUSA9) -- A child is in the hospital after they nearly drowned while playing near a lake in Prince William County. 

According to a spokesperson for Prince William County fire, dispatch received a call at about 2 p.m. from some children playing near Lake Montclair who said one of the kids they were with went missing.

First responders located the child, began performing CPR and got a pulse.

The spokesperson could not provide any information about the age or gender of the child.

All clear given after reported gunshots near Va. school


TRIANGLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- The all-clear has been given at a Prince William County middle school after authorities investigated a report of gunshots in the area.

Graham Park Middle School was in precautionary secure the building status while police investigated the incident. That status has been lifted. 

The school says everyone is safe, but dismissal at the school will be delayed by about 15 minutes. 

Prince William County police say there is no connection to the school in the incident.

Monza is presenting a four-course dinner that includes: Greeter Beer, Vienna Lager with a meat and cheese platter; Pilot Brau Czech Pilsener with calamari fritti, lightly battered squid with spicy marinara; Cranberry Gose, roasted butternut squash, curried pears, candied walnuts, Crème Fraiche, sage; Aged 16 Point Imperial IPA with all natural braised beef ragu and butternut squash gnocchi, arugula, Parmesan, olive oil; and Cocoa Danzig Porter with Cocoa Danzig Porter Ice Cream with chocolate-covered bacon, homemade ice cream, bacon, and chocolate.
