Va. man arrested for assaulting girl while sleeping


MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County Police Department arrested a 37-year-old man, who they say assaulted a 13-year-old girl while she was sleeping in a Manassas, Va. home Saturday morning.

Police responded to the home located in the 8000 block of Community Dr. in Manassas to investigate the reported assault, authorities said.

The victim told her mother that she was sleeping and then woke up to the man touching her, police said. The girl told her mother, who then called police. The girl does know the man, authorities said.

Nobody was hurt in this incident and police said, there were so signs of forced entry into the residence.

Darrell Vernnon Randolph, 37, of Manassas was arrested and is being charged with burglary and assault and battery, police said.


Man arrested for child cruelty at Walmart


WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police arrested a man on child cruelty charges after they say he left two children alone in a car while shopping at Walmart.

Police say they were called the the Walmart located at 14000 Worth Avenue in Woodbridge at 6:49 p.m. Thursday after a caller reported finding two children unsupervised in a vehicle in a vehicle parked in the parking lot.

Officers arrived and located the children -- identified as an 8-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl -- safe and unharmed. Investigation revealed they had been in the vehicle for approximately 40 minutes before the suspect exited the store and approached officers.

Thirty-eight-year-old Milton Javier Rocha-Encinas, of Woodbridge, is charged with two counts of cruelty or injuries to children.

Vigil set for teen who died at Maryland concert


WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) - Officials at a northern Virginia high school are planning a candlelight vigil for a teenager who died of a suspected drug overdose at a recent concert in Maryland.

The vigil for 17-year-old Daniel Anders was scheduled Wednesday evening at C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge. School officials issued a letter on Monday regarding the death of Anders, who was a rising senior.

Howard County police on Wednesday confirmed that Anders was one of two people who died after attending the Mad Decent Block Party at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia. Authorities had previously withheld his name at the family's request.

Authorities said about 20 concert-goers were taken to the hospital late Friday, many with drug-related symptoms, and that a 20-year-old man from Raleigh, North Carolina, also died.


Va. man wanted for assault, abduction


TRIANGLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police are looking for a man who they say assaulted a woman and wouldn't let her leave his home.

Twenty-nine-year-old Nestor Joel Villalobos is wanted for abduction and domestic assault & battery.

On August 4, police responded to the suspect's home in the 18100 block of Kilmer Lane in Triangle to investigate an assault.

A 29-year-old woman told police that Villalobos assaulted her during an argument and wouldn't let her leave. Police say the victim knew Villalobos.

Police say a neighbor heard the argument and separated the two. Police say Villalobos left before they arrive.

Nestor Joel Villalobos is described as a Hispanic male, 5'6" tall and 140 pounds with a thin build, collar length black hair, brown eyes, a goatee and tattoos on his arms and chest.

Police investigate attempted bank robery in PWC


WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police in Virginia are investigating the attempted robbery of a Bank of America Wednesday morning.

Officials say it happened at the Bank of America branch located at 1708 Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge, where they received a call about the incident around 10:10 a.m.

A male suspect on a black or dark colored bicycle approached the drive-thru teller and demanded money, police said. The man indicated he had a bomb in his backpack.

No money was taken and the suspect fled prior to officers arriving in the area. No injuries were reported, according to police.

Police say they are on the lookout for a white or light-skinned male, early to mid-20s, standing 5'10"-6', weighing 150 pounds with a thin build. The suspect was last seen wearing all black or dark colored clothing including a hat, aviator-style glasses, and a bandanna.


Man arrested for hit and run in Prince William County


NOKESVILLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police say they have found the person who struck and killed a man with a vehicle in Nokesville, and then fled the scene.

The man was found in the area of Vint Hill Road and Broadlands Road in Nokesville after police received a call about an unconscious person at 2:49 a.m. Monday, say police.

Officers found the man at the scene. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was later identified as 36-year-old Ross Damon Adams.

Police officials say they believe that Adams was walking along the roadway when he was struck. Police believed that the vehicle that struck him would have extensive front end damage and was possibly headed west on Vint Hill Road towards Fauquier County, according to police.

Abducted Va. boy found safe, grandmother charged


WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A boy from Prince William County reportedly abducted by a family member overnight has been found safe and sound.

Officer Jonathan Perok, spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department, says eight-year-old Caleb Rain Brock was recovered sometime before 3:30 Friday morning. Around 1 a.m., the police department reported Caleb had been abducted by his 65-year-old grandmother, Brenda Counts.

Police say Counts was granted custody of Brenda but failed to return him when asked.

Counts and Brock were believed to be heading to Alta Vista, Va. in a dark colored Subaru Outback.

Officer Perok says Caleb is safe and has been reunited with family members. They were located at a residence in the 3500 block of Buffalo Ct.
