PWCS Students Named Academic All-American in Lacrosse

From Prince William County Public Schools:

 

Seven Prince William County students have been named as Academic All-Americans in Lacrosse for the 2011 season. The high school committees of US Lacrosse have presented this honor to recent graduates Autumn Uptain, Kirsten Zimmerman, Rachel Weinberg, Rebecca Hieck, and Sara Reedy of Osbourn Park High School; Dylan Haskins, Potomac High School; and Tyler Keshur, Stonewall Jackson High School. Each of these Prince William Public County Schools students met the selection criteria set forth by the council, which designates an Academic All-American as follows:
  • Be a starter or significant contributor.
  • Carry at least a 50 percent course load in college preparatory courses of honor or advanced placement level.
  • Have a cumulative weighted grade point average of at least a 3.6.
  • Be a junior or senior.
  • Make significant contributions to the school and/or community beyond participation on school athletic teams.
