WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man was charged Tuesday with robbing a PNC Bank inside a Giant Grocery Store in Woodbridge, Va.

According to Prince William County police, James Scotto robbed the bank on July 2 at around 12:08 p.m. An anonymous tip led police to identify Scotto as a suspect.

Scotto, 26, approached the bank area, displayed a handgun and demanded money, police say. He then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot towards the rear of the grocery store.

Scotto was charged with robbery, entering a bank with intent to commit a larceny and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He was already in police custody after being arrested July 17 on an unrelated matter.
