Car arson leads to two arrests

TRIANGLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Two people have been arrested after police found evidence connecting them with a car arson.

Robert Paul Basista and Timothy Wilburn have been charged with two counts of arson after allegedly burning a BMW alongside Possum Point Road. The vehicle, which was found by crews supported by blocks, burned to shreds as a result of the fire.

Police were able to identify several pieces of evidence before the fire was extinguished and an initial investigation along with help from the public confirmed the fire was intentionally set as well as the suspect's identities.
