MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) -- Three people are displaced and a firefighter had to be taken to the hospital after an early morning fire at a home in Manassas.
According to fire officials, The smoke detectors went off shortly before 1:48 a.m. at a two-story, single-family home in the 9700 block of Sudley Manor Drive. The residents were able to get out before firefighters arrived at the scene.
The fire reportedly started in the laundry room on the lower level. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze rather quickly but one firefighter became ill and was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Two adults and one child were displaced due to the fire.
Fire officials say the preliminary damage estimate totals $100,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
