PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WUSA) - Prince William County Police conducted searches on Friday of two schools to ensure student safety, according to a department statement.
These random searches are part of an ongoing effort by the Department, and the Prince William County Schools Office of Risk Management, to ensure that schools remain safe, drug-free environments for students and employees.
Officers and drug-detection dogs searched Brentsville High School, 12109 Aden Road, Nokesville, and Marsteller Middle School, 14000 Sudley Manor Dr., Bristow.
No drugs were located at either school.
Police Chief Charlie T. Deane has said that it "is important to send a strong message that drugs in the school will not be tolerated. We hope that these searches will deter people from bringing drugs to school."
