Prince William Tea Party to hold Climate Change Forum

From Daniel Cortez:

Tea Party Patriots in northern Virginia will focus on climate change at their next scheduled educational advance in Manassas, Virginia March 19th.

The event sponsored by the Prince William County Tea Party Patriots (PWCTPP) will present “The Myth About Climate Change.”  The featured speaker will be William H. “Bill” Sargent, President of NOVA SEE (Scientists and Engineers for Energy and Environment)

A recent survey of tea party members conducted by the PWCTPP indicated that climate change; cap and trade and energy issues were the topics of most importance. “Due to this high level of interest, the program was developed to address questions and concerns,” stated Nancy Schiffman, Lead Organizer of the PWCTPP.

“Cap and Trade”, HR2454, the Waxman-Markey Bill or commonly referred to as the American Clean Energy and Security Act, will be part of the discussion.  The legislation according to officials would result in an enormous increase in the cost of energy, and an increased bureaucracy while doing nothing to alter the climate.

According to Schiffman, “With “Cap and Trade” still lurking in the wings, the Obama administration is using the back door tactics of environmental regulation to achieve what he could not push through Congress.”  Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli has requested that the EPA reconsider its conclusion that “Global Warming” is caused by people augmenting the concentration of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere; that the EPA conclusion is based on faulty evidence largely provided by the United Nations International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Renewable energy sources have been touted as the panacea for global warming and energy independence.  Sources such as wind power, solar thermal, solar voltaic and biomass also have environmental consequences.   To learn more, please plan to attend and you will be treated to an enlightening discussion on climate change.  You will have an opportunity to ask meaningful questions about climate change and also have a great luncheon meal.

The program will begin at 12:00 noon at the City Tavern Grill, 9405 Main St., Manassas, VA.  Registration fee is $20.00 which includes lunch.
