Local Artists Showcase their Work

On Sat., Nov. 4 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Old Town Manassas will host the 13th Annual Fall Gallery Walk, where local artists and merchants collaborate to showcase their wares. Art receptions at various shops will host artists and their work, while the public has the opportunity to directly talk with the artist.  Refreshments and live musicians will also be provided. City Square Cafe of Old Town Manassas is hosting a Thanksgiving Day raffle to benefit SERVE, a Prince William County non-profit that distributes food and provides assistance to homeless local families. From Oct. 15 through Nov. 15, patrons can bring in non-perishable or canned goods, and enter a raffle to win a Thanksgiving Day dinner to-go for eight, prepared by City Square Café. Battle Royale Marching Band Competition

On Saturday, October 1, 2011, Battlefield High School in Haymarket, VA, will host its inaugural marching band competition, the Battle Royale. At least 19 area marching bands will be competing to become this event's first Grand Champion! And about 3,000 people are expected to attend. The competition begins at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 each (children 5 and under are free).

The Marching Bobcats will conclude the day's activities with a typically phenomenal exhibition performance. This event is expected to become northern Virginia's premier marching band competition. You don't want to miss this exciting day! Tell your friends!

Learn to Dance at the New Dance Program, Watch a Chainsaw Artist and Ride Twisted Twister…

 It’s that time again for the beautiful log carvings of the popular Chainsaw Chix, more than 100 crafters and an all new interactive dance session with dance groups like the Israeli Dance Program and the Happy Feet Cloggers at the 29th Annual Manassas Fall Jubilee to be held, Sat., Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Old Town Manassas, Va. With FREE admission and FREE parking, the event will feature hundreds of crafters, including exhibitors with handmade jewelry and products, woodcrafts, face painting, a pumpkin patch, live entertainment and rides. New this year, the Fall Jubilee is hosting an interactive dance area with dance groups like, The Happy Feet Cloggers, The Suburban Gypsies and the Israeli Dance Program. Attendees can watch performances and learn the dance steps as well.
