Occasionally Cake of Alexandria, Va. recently hired Mount Vernon, Va. native, Dana Bailey, 29, as a manager-in-training and a baker. Bailey is a recent graduate of Stratford University in Woodbridge, Va. with a degree in baking and pastry. Although she spent the past 10 years working in government administration, Bailey knew her ‘calling’ was to be in the kitchen creating and designing cakes. When she’s not whipping up a new cupcake flavor, she enjoys reading and listening to music.

The City of Manassas Public Works and Utilities department recently unveiled the new ChargePoint America Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations in Old Town Manassas, Va. In efforts to be environmentally friendly and cost-effective the department has proactively researched alternative energy options for customers. More than 100 Chargepoint America EV charging stations are installed throughout Virginia, Maryland and Washington, while more than 50 areas in the United States also contain the stations. John A. Budesky of Mechanicsville, Va., Appointed New City Manager for Manassas, Va.
 

The Manassas, Va. City Council and Manassas, Va. Mayor Hal Parrish appoint John A. Budesky, of Mechanicsville, Va. as the new city manager of Manassas, Va. He was selected from 70 candidates representing 23 states as part of a nationwide search. Budesky’s first day as Manassas, Va. city manager will be Mon., Mar. 5, 2012. The City of Manassas Department of Public Works and Utilities recently named Tarek Aly, of Manassas Park, Va., deputy director of electric. Aly helps to ensure a safe work environment for field employees, produce reliable electric systems and provide feasible rates for customers. An avid soccer player, Aly spends much of his spare time playing indoor and outdoor soccer. He (published in April 2005), and is also a

CITY OF MANASSAS NAMES INTERIM CITY MANAGER, PATRICIA (PAT) WEILER

Manassas, Va. City Council named Patricia (Pat) Weiler as interim city manager, to begin Feb. 1, 2012. Weiler of the Independent Hill area in Virginia has worked for the City of Manassas for 16 years and currently serves as the director of finance and administration for the City of Manassas. She will lead the city in providing a new fiscal year 2013 budget. Weiler will fulfill the role of interim city manager until a new city manager is hired. Manassas City Council hopes to hire a city manager by spring 2012 or earlier, although a date has not been confirmed at this time.
