From Prince William County Chamber of Commerce:
Prince William, Virginia – The Prince William Chamber of Commerce will host a Women’s Leadership Conference on Thursday, December 1 from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Continental Events Center in Manassas, at 9705 Liberia Avenue. The first of its kind in the Prince William area, the conference focuses on equipping women for success both professionally and personally. QMT Windchimes is the Main Event Sponsor. MTCI- Management and Training Consultants, Inc. is the Speaker Sponsor. Patty Baisden, Vice President at QMT Windchimes remarked, “It is an honor to be a part of this day to celebrate and cultivate the success of women in business. QMT Windchimes will be featuring our For the Girls chimes, created in honor of all women affected directly or indirectly by breast cancer, a product created not for our own benefit but to generate funding for the cause. It is a joy to be involved with the women of Prince William County, Manassas Park, and Manassas City for this positive, empowering event.” “Today, more than ever, women are taking on leadership roles in business and the community and our Chamber is eager to support that momentum; giving female leaders the chance to network with other women in leadership who share the same challenges and opportunities” says Lucy Beauchamp, Chairman of the Prince William Chamber. “Work-life balance continues to be a challenge for many professionals. Women in particular find themselves juggling a variety of roles and priorities. This conference is intended to provide a touchstone, speaking to needs from goal setting to retirement planning and everything in between.” The full-day conference opens with breakfast featuring Keynote Speaker Terrie Suit, Virginia Secretary of Veteran Affairs & Homeland Security, followed by three workshop sessions, lunch and a closing panel. Over lunch a panel of female CEO’s will share their wisdom during the “Success Stories” session, talking about what success looks like in their lives. The closing panel, “The Business of Looking Good & Building Your Brand” features Becky Sheetz-Runkle, author of Sun Tzu for Women and recently named one of the Washington Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.” The discussion focuses on the concept that believing in oneself, focusing on relationships and knowing your brand leads to greater success in business. Attendees will also have the opportunity to have a professional headshot taken by noted local photographer Michelle Riordan. Tickets are $65 per person. Registration and a detailed schedule are available online at www.pwchamber.org.
