Musicians Perform at All-County Orchestra on February 11
From Prince William County Public Schools: Outstanding orchestra students from Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) at the middle and high school levels, will combine their talents for an afternoon of music at the upcoming All-County Orchestra program, scheduled for Saturday, February 11 at 4 p.m. at Woodbridge High School, 3001 Old Bridge Rd, Woodbridge. The 4 p.m. concert is free and open to the public. Brian Smith, orchestra director at Osbourn Park High School and Bennett and Penn Elementary Schools, will direct the All-County Junior Honors Orchestra. The All-County Senior Honors Orchestra will be under the direction of Neil Casey, director of orchestras at the University of South Carolina. “This event provides a unique opportunity for strings students in the county because they   perform both string and full orchestra repertoire in the program,” said Joyce Zsembery, supervisor of the Arts for PWCS. Taryn Wood, Woodbridge High School orchestra director, will serve as the event host and is the senior orchestra chairperson. Karen von Bernewitz, orchestra director at Lake Ridge Middle School, is the junior orchestra chair. Mike Diecchio, orchestra director at Brentsville District High School, hosted senior orchestra auditions. Rochelle Kidd, orchestra director at Benton Middle School, hosted the junior auditions.
