This was sent to us by Historic Manassas, Inc.:

It’s that time again for the beautiful log carvings of the popular Chainsaw Chix, 300 crafters and lots of entertainment at the 28th Annual Manassas Fall Jubilee to be held, Sat., Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Old Town Manassas, Va., presented by Clear, an Internet company based in Kirkland, Wash. With FREE admission and FREE parking, the event will feature hundreds of crafters, including exhibitors with handmade jewelry and products, woodcrafts, face painting, a pumpkin patch, live entertainment and rides.

Pennsylvania-based, Chainsaw Chix or “The Chix,” as the performance artists refer to themselves, are a women’s division of Masters of the Chainsaw, which began in 1992. The performance is sponsored by News & Messenger and will demonstrate a live wood-carving exhibition using chainsaws. The Chainsaw Chix hail from across the nation and the globe, including Japan and Germany. All woodwork pieces created by Chainsaw Chix during the Fall Jubilee will be auctioned off at the end of the event.

Kid Neighborhood Entertainment will be sponsored by Northwest Federal Credit Union, featuring The Funny Guy, Paul Hadfield, who offers a mix of physical comedy like juggling, unicycling, acrobatics, and slapstick comedy; and other performances will be presented by dance studios, a martial arts group, the Young Orchestra of Prince William County, as well as the Stonewall Jackson High School cheerleaders.  Additional entertainment includes an Antique Farm Tractor display, face painting, ‘paint your own pumpkin’ in the Wegmans Food Markets’ Pumpkin Patch, games provided by the Boy Scouts, and rides provided by JumpWorks to include:  Acro-Spring Bungy trampoline, Spider Climb Tower, Twisted Twister Inflatable and Monkey Bouncer.

Adults can join in the fun also with hundreds of crafter booths featuring hand-made products from lotions and soaps to beautiful paintings. The main stage, sponsored by K. Hovnanian, is bringing back the band, Blame the Dog, and will introduce two new bands to Old Town Manassas, Joe Gosman Band and Everwilde.

Local participating wineries will offer samplings and bottle purchases, while food will available from vendors with traditional festival fare and from Old Town Manassas restaurants, coffee shops and the Historic Manassas, Inc. Farmer’s Market.

Additional festival sponsors include:  City of Manassas, Historic Manassas, Inc., News & Messenger, Hampton Inn, Harris Teeter, 94.7-FM Fresh, and 106.7-FM Fan.
